The cradle of a never-ending history
Muziris was an Ancient Harbour of INDIA – a Port Built during the 900 BC Period. It is Located about Thirty five (35) Kilometres North of Cochin in the State of Kerala in INDIA. India’s First Jewish, Christian and Islamic settlements were at Muziris, 961 BC, 52 AD and 629 AD respectively.

Kodungallur Thalappoli- Hindu Temple Festival India

4. St. Michael’s Cathedral Kottappuram - 1890 AD
It is the biggest and most beautiful Cathedral in Central Kerala. The ceiling is the Highlight of this Cathedral.
Dance And Drama (Chavittunatakam)

Margamkali
A traditionaldance art form originally practiced by St. Thomas Christians. The folk art form involves a group of dancers performing around a traditional lamp in a symbolic representation of the Christ standing among his disciples. Know More (This dance drama is not the part of regular tour)

Muziris Spice Garden Visit

Kottappuram Rice Market (Muziris Local Market)
This is a 200 years old market. The water front coffeeshops are an attraction. Monday and Thursdays are the market days.

Remenants Of Cranganoor Fort 1523 A.D
This was built by the Portuguese in 1523 AD. Destroyed by the Dutch in 1662 AD. Also known as Kottapuram Fort.

Chinese Fishing Nets- Introduced by Chinese traders in 13 Century Ad
Here we find the Chinese Fishing Nets and the Local Fish Market selling fresh water river fish.

Paliyam Ladies House: (Also Known As Big House)
This house is 235 years old – Kerala Style Architect, Traditional homesteads (tharavads) where several generations of a matrilineal joint family lived together.

Thomas in 52 AD is said to have built this. It is one of the seven churches built by St. Thomas in Kerala, India

A Family Visit at Muziris
The Tour shall end with a visit to a House that is over five (5) decades old, built by the loving father of your tour operator, Mr. Stanley In the year 1972. It is a cosy little house compromising of six rooms and a kitchen. The home and children were managed by his mother Mrs. Tressia Joseph who is ninety three (93) years old today and a retired school teacher. She loves meeting people and is eagerly waiting to see you all. More than 50 years before (in the year 1972) Tour Operator Stanly’s father built this house at the cost of $(US) 380/-
